Dear EnviroSensors,

Reminder for our call next week - we have a guest speaker, Andrew Wiedlea, Ph.D., from the Department of Energy's ESnet (Energy Science network). For those of you who might not know, ESnet is the DoE's backbone high-performance data network between the National Labs, and they generally regarded as the home of best practices in cutting-edge research network engineering.

Andrew is with ESnet's Science Engagement Group, and is leading a project on extending ESnet to the edge in an upper Colorado watershed for environmental science. Which means that his team is now getting into the space of wireless, low-power networks, edge processing, sensor nets, siting and power supply systems, science integration, software infrastructure, and so forth. Sound familiar to anyone?

Andrew will provide an overview to ESIP EnviroSensing on their testbed objectives and trajectory, and is looking for feedback and engagement from the ground-up practitioners (that's you!). Don't miss this opportunity!

Agenda:
Welcome & Introductions - 5min
ESIP announcements and updates - 5min
Guest: Andrew Wiedlea, Ph.D.: DoE ESnet field network testbed - 15 min presentation + 30 min discussion
