Lead-Safe, Healthy, Historic Home Repair Trainings & Grants

These trainings teach safe, affordable ways to address health hazards (lead,
carbon monoxide, mold, pests & other asthma triggers) and improve energy
efficiency in older homes. You will see demonstrations of lead-based paint
preparation & removal, and repairs to windows, doors, plaster walls, &
exterior siding. The trainer, Dennis Livingston, is a national expert on
historic restoration, lead-safe repairs, and healthy home maintenance. For
over 30 years, he has been a carpenter, contractor, and wrote lead safety
books for the EPA, HUD, and National Parks Service. Currently, he is
working with groups repairing homes in New Orleans.
