Join the City Council for Coffee and Conversation

Community Meetings on the 08-09 City Budget Set

 

Durham, N.C. - In February and March, Durham City Council will host a
series of community meetings entitled, "Coffee with Council."  These
face-to-face meetings with residents will be held throughout the city
and are designed to give citizens the opportunity to provide direct
input to council members on budget items for the upcoming 2008-2009
fiscal year.

The topics of discussion include: public protection, economic
development, water and sewer utilities, quality-of-life issues and any
other services offered by the City.  Residents who have ideas on how the
City can improve its services are welcome to attend any of the meetings
scheduled below:

*         Saturday, February 9, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Irwin
R. Holmes, Sr. Recreation Center at Campus Hills, 2000 South Alston
Avenue.

 

*         Monday, February 11, 2008, from 5:30 p.m. p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at
Easley Elementary School, 302 Lebanon Circle.

 

*         Saturday, February 16, 2008, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at
Eastway Elementary School, 610 Alston Avenue.

 

*         Tuesday, February 26, 2008, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at
Hope Valley Elementary School, 3005 Dixon Road.

 

*         Saturday, March 8, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Community
Family Life and Recreation Center at Lyon Park, 1313 Halley Street.

 

*         Monday, March 10, 2008, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Durham
County Schools Resource Center, 2107 Hillandale Road.

 

*         Thursday, March 13, 2008, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the
Council Committee Room, Second Floor of City Hall, 101 City Hall Plaza.
