Durham History Museum Design Charrette Jan. 31

 

What:              Durham History Museum Design Charrette

 

Who:               Durham Cultural Master Plan Advisory Board,
Preservation Durham, Parrish Street Advocacy Group and the City of
Durham's Office of Economic and Workforce Development 

 

When:             Thursday, January 31, 2008

8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (three, one-hour sessions each)

 

Where:            Shared Offices of Preservation Durham and the Parrish
Street Advocacy Group

Fast Facts

*         Representatives from Riggs Ward Design, the consulting group
conducting the Durham History Museum Planning Study, are hosting a
series of one-hour charrettes to gather input from the community during
the first stage of the five-month research study.  

 

*         Interested stakeholders, artists, design professionals and
Durham residents are invited to share ideas about the location, focus,
size, potential collections and funding sources as well as other
aspects, including the proposed museum's relationship to existing
heritage sites in Durham County.   

 

*         Residents that plan to attend one of the charrettes are asked
to R.S.V.P. by January 28 to Peter Coyle, cultural master plan project
manager with the City's Office of Economic and Workforce Development, at
(919) 560-4965, extension 205 or via e-mail at peter.coyle at durhamnc.gov.
and indicate which session they will attend. 

 

*         The Durham History Museum Planning Project is a cooperative
project of the Durham Cultural Master Plan Advisory Board, Preservation
Durham and the Parrish Street Advocacy Group and is funded by the
Cultural Master Plan, a joint project of the City and County of Durham.
