Mayor Bell to Deliver Durham's Annual State of the City Address Tonight

Free Retrofit Toilet Devices and Showerhead Exchange at Tonight's
Presentation

 

What:             City of Durham's Annual State of the City Address

When:            Tuesday, January 22, 2008, from 7 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

                        * Regularly scheduled City Council Meeting will
immediately follow.

 

Where:          Council Chambers

                        First Floor, City Hall

               101 City Hall Plaza

               Durham, NC 27701

 

Fast Facts

*        This annual address for Durham citizens recounts the City's
achievements and challenges throughout the previous year and outlines
the mayor's goals for the coming year.

 

*        Attendance is free and residents, business owners and local
news media are encouraged to attend.  

 

*        To remind attendees of the importance of water conservation
during this severe drought, Wayne Drop, the City's water conservation
mascot, will be distributing free retrofit toilet devices and conducting
a showerhead exchange in the lobby of City Hall immediately before and
after the address.  

 

*        The address will be televised live on Time Warner Cable channel
8 beginning at 7 p.m.  The address will be immediately followed by the
regularly scheduled City Council meeting.

 

*        A copy of the mayor's presentation and speech will be placed on
the City's Web site by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at 
www.durhamnc.gov/mayor.
