GOOD MUSIC IS HAPPENING IN DURHAM

Looking for something to do this Saturday (May 31)? Join Durham Parks and
Recreation for an evening concert full of music and fun. The concert will
be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the CCB Plaza (corner of Corcoran and
Parrish Streets in downtown Durham) and will feature the sounds of reggae
band Jamrock!

Jamrock was founded in 1995 by a few
Jamaicans who desired to hear authentic reggae music. Jamrock focuses on
delivering true “yard style” party reggae rhythms, reggae standards and an
authentic Jamaican sound. Jamrock brings a professional, yet fun attitude
to reggae music. The success of the group can be attributed to their
sound, which reflects the true style of how reggae music is played in
Jamaica. They play all versions of reggae: lover’s rock, oldies, dancehall
and roots. Some popular American tunes are also covered, most of them in
reggae style.

The members of Jamrock are not only proud of their music, but also their
professionalism. They understand time commitments and quality service.
Members inlcude: Carl Baxter (vocals), Gerald Mulvaney (vocals), Dean
Irwin (bass), Ken Josephs (drums), Neal Boyke (keyboards), Sylvester
Percival (keyboards) and Brian Best (guitar).

Before you go to the movies, the Durham Bulls Game, dinner or a cookout,
stop by the CCB Plaza and make plans to “jam” with Jamrock! For more
information call (919) 560-4355.
