County Tax System Temporarily Shuts Down

Durham, N.C. – To offer Durham County citizens the latest tax payment
capabilities, Durham County’s Tax Administration Department will
temporarily shut down its Online E-services on Friday, June 13, at 5:30p.m
to upgrade old software.  Online E-services let citizens easily pay their
tax bills online via check or credit card and check the status of an
account.  The installation of the new system will replace an aging system,
and lower maintenance costs.  The new and improved system will enable
citizens to pay their taxes using a faster tax payment system, and save
the County approximately $50,000-$60,000 in maintenance costs over three
years. 

The weekend outage will inhibit tax payment using the Durham County Tax
Administration website and the Tax Payment Kiosk at Northgate Mall.  The
Online Business Listing System that allows business owners to list
business personal property will also temporarily shut down this weekend. 
All systems will be restored for citizen to use by the evening of Sunday,
June 15.
