Dear outdoor enthusiast:

The Durham Open Space and Trails Commission has recently expanded and
improved their website. It is located a:

http://www.DurhamOST.org.

We have a wealth of information on it that may be of interest to you. A
few of the pages that might be of primary interest are:

Maps -- we've assembled a huge collection of links to trail maps of all
kinds (hiking, biking, paddling, birding, etc) to outdoor opportunities
across Durham and the Triangle.

Grants -- DOST coordinates the Matching Grant Program, which helps local
non-profits build or preserve outdoor recreational opportunities for
County's residents. Every year DOST distributes $80,000 in matching grant
funding.

Take Action -- Learn how you can help through links to calendar items,
news briefs, and openings on the DOST board.

And here's our mission statement:

The Durham Open Space and Trails Commission is an advisory board whose
mission is to foster the wise use of Durham, North Carolina's natural
resources while involving and educating all segments of the Durham
Community. In addition, the Commission advises the City Council and the
County Board of Commissioners on matters relating to open space
preservation and trail development.

Check out our new website -- and let us know how we can improve it to
better serve your needs!

Thank you in advance!
--ASE.
