One hundred thousand drink its water.
Twelve million play on its shores.
It’s Jordan Lake and it’s in trouble.

Jordan Lake Arts & Music BLUEGRASS Festival!

The music begins on Saturday, November 1st, 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 2nd, 11 a.m.-5p.m. at Jordan Lake Farm, 1226 Martha’s Chapel Road (south of Durham).

Come join us for the classic bluegrass sounds of Constant Change whose music spans from the hard-driving sounds of today’s contemporary bluegrass, to the most simple and smooth sounds of bluegrass gospel and ballads. Plan to get up and dance to original bluegrass songs by Sweet Potato Pie and end the day listening to the young, sassy country sounds of Nu-Blu.

We could go on and on about all of our outstanding bands but you’ll just have to come to the festival and see for yourself. This year’s festival features some of North Carolina’s top bluegrass bands: Tommy Edwards with LaNelle Davis & the Lonesome Heart, Old habits and many more. Bring your instruments, jamming is always encouraged!

In addition to the music, we’re having great children’s activities like birdhouse and pumpkin painting, hay rides, face painting, balloon animals, cycle rides, storytelling and much more! And don’t forget about the always electrifying Apple Chill Cloggers, on hand to tend to your dancing and clogging pleasure.

Your family can spend a few hours or the entire day enjoying good music, dancing, and a great selection of food including sandwiches, crepes, baked goodies, coffee, hot cocoa and other delicious local fare.

Arts and crafts vendors will be on hand as well as nonprofit environmental agencies involved in the preservation and conservation of Jordan Lake. Also, come to enjoy a small harvest market featuring several local farmer and growers offering up their best fall veggies, flowers, handmade soaps, wreaths, pumpkins and gourds.

Fall leaves changing colors, Jordan Lake in the background, bluegrass pickin’, friends, family and neighbors sound like the making of a tremendous weekend. Don’t forget to pick up your tickets on Etix.com, through our website or at Specs Eyewear on 9th Street.
