[Durham INC] New Programs Now On DTV8

Tune in to DTV8, the City of Durham's government channel on Time Warner
Cable channel 8, to watch these exciting new programs!

 

Citizen Observer Patrol

Meet citizen volunteers Robert Scott and Tehron Cates to learn more
about the Citizen Observer Patrol Program. The COP Program is a
volunteer group sponsored by the Durham Police Department that uses a
simple approach to safeguarding neighborhoods through residents'
involvement.  COP volunteers are local residents who help fight crime by
patrolling their community, looking out for suspicious activity or
potential hazards, and offering assistance to local residents.

 

The Lion King Comes to DPAC

Broadway's award-winning musical - The Lion King - is coming to the
Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) in January!  In this program, learn
more about this thrilling, live theater experience directly from
audience members from around the world, including Oprah, Elton John, and
Lion King Director Julie Taymor, along with excerpts from The Lion King
performances. 

 

Stories of Service

"Stories of Service" is a series of stories featuring City employees who
have gone above and beyond what the job requires. It highlights the
following City employees: John Conyers, Natarsha Perry, Latoya Lewis,
Linwood Spruill, Abdul Farrakhan, John Read, Miller O. Scott, David
Chavis Sr., and Jason Cash.  These employees were recognized by
co-workers, customers, or community members including Tom Bonfield,
Vickie Atkinson, Frankie Frasier, Michael Balzarano, Tiffany Blakeney,
Rene' Hall, Trica Oakley, John Dobson, Simon Woodrup, and Kindra
Mammone. DTV8 would like to say a special thank you to Jay Reinstein and
Maria Ratliff for hosting this show and to all City of Durham employees
for their outstanding service!
