Durham Hosts Revere Road Resurfacing Project Meeting

October 14 Meeting to Provide Project Details and Solicit Resident
Feedback

DURHAM, N.C.- Durham residents who use Revere Road should mark their
calendars now to attend a public information meeting about an upcoming
reconstruction and resurfacing project and the impact it will have on
area residents, businesses, and motorists.

The City of Durham is repaving the entire length of Revere Road from
N.C. Highway 54 south to Sedwick Road as well as the two blocks south of
Sedwick Road. In addition to repaving, there are sections of the roadway
that will be completely reconstructed. The plans include replacement of
approximately 9,000 feet of curb and many driveway connections on Revere
Road.

On Thursday, October 14, 2010, at 6 p.m. the City of Durham Department
of Public Works will hold a public information meeting about the project
in the sanctuary of Parkwood United Methodist Church, located at 5123
Revere Road, Durham.

Public Works engineers from the City will provide information, answer
questions, and receive comments from residents and motorists about the
project. This project will begin on or before October 11 with some minor
repairs and will continue, weather permitting, through mid-November. It
will shut down for the winter months and resume again next year in March
or April as the weather allows. The project is being funded with 2007
general obligation bond funds and is estimated to cost in excess of $1.3
million.
