Durham Closes Portion of Chapel Hill Street for Pavement Repairs

Closure in Effect for One Week; Sidewalk Will Remain Open to Pedestrians

 

DURHAM, N.C. - Beginning Monday, April 11, 2011, at 6 a.m., the City of
Durham's Public Works Department will close a portion of Chapel Hill
Street to all vehicle traffic to repair pavement failures. Weather
permitting, repair work on Chapel Hill Street is scheduled to be
completed on Friday, April 15, 2011.    

 

The closure affects the portion of Chapel Hill Street between Main
Street and Great Jones Street. No thru vehicle traffic will be allowed
during this time frame; however, this portion of Chapel Hill Street will
remain open to pedestrians. 

 

Westbound traffic will be detoured to Main Street and then turned left
onto Great Jones Street. Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Ramseur
Street and then turned left onto Corcoran Street.
