Dear Will,

Soon our state leaders will decide whether to keep on protecting our
environment - or place critical environmental programs on the
chopping block.

Up until Friday, the public can weigh in with their opinions. And I
want to make sure we reach 500 comments in favor of North Carolina's
environment before that deadline.

Please email the NC Regulatory Reform Commission now.

http://www.webaction.org/site/R?i=HzYRAzEM-esFyKCaeFm_fA..

Tell them "reform" shouldn't include undoing key rules that
protect our air and water.

My concern? Certain polluters and big developers see calls for
"reform" as their opportunity to delay, weaken, or completely gut some
of our core environmental laws. The Jordan Lake cleanup plan,
protections for coastal wetlands, standards limiting toxic air
pollutants, and even laws to
encourage recycling could be at risk.

We know state programs to protect drinking water and reduce pollution
improve our lives. Now, we need our lawmakers to hear that message
loud and clear.

The deadline? It's Friday! [1] We need 500 comments before
we can get down, and have several hundred more to gather.

Email members of the Commission

http://www.webaction.org/site/R?i=jWS433rwaaFyYAyHUu0lPg..

and tell them to protect our environmental laws. Then, ask your
family and friends to do the same.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Ouzts
Environment North Carolina Director
