Durham Hosts Comprehensive Plan Open Houses

Three Opportunities for Residents to Share Vision for Durham's Future
Growth and Development

                        Tuesday, May 31, 2011, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

                        Durham County South Regional Library, 4505 S.
Alston Ave.

                                    

                        Thursday, June 2, 2011, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

                        Durham County North Regional Library, 221 Milton

Fast Facts:

*         The Durham City-County Planning Department is updating the
Durham Comprehensive Plan, originally adopted by the Durham County Board
of Commissioners and the Durham City Council in 2005.  

 

*         The plan is the County's and City's statement about how the
community should grow and develop. It deals with physical aspects of the
community's growth and development and also guides how local government
will provide public facilities and regulate new development.

 

*         These open houses will be an initial opportunity for residents
and business owners to share their vision of how Durham should look in
the future. It will also be an opportunity to learn more about the
Durham Comprehensive Plan, the plan update process and schedule, and
meet with Durham City/County Planning Department staff.
