Barbara Lau, director of the Pauli Murray Project at Duke, will be the guest speaker Sunday at First Presbyterian Church for its Summer Reading Series, to discuss "The Dream is Freedom: Pauli Murray and American Democratic Faith" by Sarah Azaransky.

Pauli Murray (1910-1995) was a poet, lawyer, activist, and the first female African-American Episcopal priest. By examining Murray's body of published and unpublished writing, Azaransky traces the development of Murray's thought over 50 years.

The class meets at 9:45 a.m. in Watts-Hill Hall at the church, 305 E. Main St. The public is invited to attend. For information, call (919) 682-5511.
