Durham County DSS Encourages Interest in Foster Parenting

 Facts:Durham County Department of Social Services encourages adults interested in foster parenting to learn more about how to provide a safe and nurturing home for children while they are in the custody of the agency. Qualified adults are invited to attend an upcoming recruitment session hosted by Durham County DSS on October 25.  The session will be held, from 6:30-8:30p.m., at Stanford Warren Library, located at 1201 Fayetteville Street. The main goal of foster care, a temporary living arrangement for abused, neglected and dependent children who need a safe place to live, is to reunite children with their families.  However, there are situations where children in foster care become eligible for legal adoption.
