Durham Offers Small Business Workshop Nov. 17

Year-Long Free Workshop Series Designed to Support Small Business Growth
and Development; 

Third Seminar Set for November 17th   

 

What:              "Growing Your Business" - Seminar #3 in a Workshop
Series for Small Businesses

Fast Facts:

*         "Growing Your Business" is the third session in a series of
workshops designed to support small business growth and development This
training, to be conducted by Adam Alligrini, an assistant vice president
and branch manager at SunTrust Bank, will discuss how to develop and
write a business plan. There will also be a discussion of the importance
of a business plan, its function and components, how it is structured,
as well as a discussion on cash flow management and its role in business
finance and operations. Small business owners as well as entrepreneurs
interested in starting a business are encouraged to attend.

 

*         The seminar series was developed by the City's Equal
Opportunity/Equity Assurance Department to provide technical assistance
services to local, small businesses for this fiscal year. These free
workshops are open to all interested small business owners and
entrepreneurs. Parking for this workshop is available in the Chapel Hill
Street Garage and Lot, located at  326 E. Chapel Hill St., as well as
on-street parking on nearby streets.

 

*         Participants are asked to pre-register for each seminar by
visiting the City's website at  
www.DurhamNC.gov/Departments/Equal/Training_Request.cfm  or by
contacting Vincent Wingate, senior equal opportunity/equity assurance
specialist with the City's Equal Opportunity/Equity Assurance

About the Equal Opportunity & Equity Assurance Department

The City's Equal Opportunity & Equity Assurance Department is
responsible for the implementation of the City's Equal Business
Opportunity Program. Responsibilities include implementation of race and
gender neutral measures to facilitate the participation of Small
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (SDBE) in City contracting activity,
recruitment, certification, and maintenance of SDBE data bank, business
development, City project compliance, monitoring, and reporting. To
