So far, 12.480 people have voted at one-stop.

One-stop will be open at 8AM all week at all locations. On Friday, polls will be open until 7:30 PM at all locations. On Saturday, polls will close at 1 PM. Other days they are open until 5:30.

Earlier in the week and earlier in the day should have smaller crowds.

If you want to vote at Duke, parking may be a little iffy on Tuesday due to a funeral. Otherwise, it is a good place to vote since the students voted the first week, before they left for the summer. Come in on Chapel Drive and look for the "Curbside Voter" signs.

If you can't get in to vote, May 1 is the last day to request an absentee ballot. See http://www.co.durham.nc.us/departments/elec/2008_Election/Absentee_Mail_General.html

If you want to see a sample ballot, go to

http://www.ncsbe.gov/PrecinctFinder.aspx and put in your address, or
https://www.ncsbe.gov/VoterLookup.aspx?Feature=voterinfo and put in your name.
This doesn't work on smart phones, not sure about iPads.

Regards, pat

Something you may want to cascade into neighborhood list-serves.

One-stop is a really good way to vote if you need to update anything in your voter registration. You should have gotten a postcard from the Board of Election about new districts last week. If not, you probably need to update your registration.
You can check how/whether you are registered and find out about your polling place and your voting districts (for US House, NC House, etc.) at: https://www.ncsbe.gov/VoterLookup.aspx?Feature=voterinfo. You put in your name, and it returns information about you, including a link that will take you to a sample ballot for the primary for your districts.
The full list of candidates in Durham County is at http://www.durhamcountync.gov/departments/elec/CANDIDATE_FILING/2012/cont_cand_rpt.pdf.
If you want to do early voting at Duke, the polling place is in the Student Union. There will be about 5 parking places on Chapel Drive. You might have to tell the guard that you are going there to vote. It should be pretty free of lines.
Note that there is voting on Sundays this year. If you are looking to vote when there are the smallest crowds, I would try the week of April 23.
