New "City Hall This Week" Begins Tonight
Police Department Unveils New Utility Terrain Vehicles; Final
Angier-Driver Streetscape Design Ready
DTV8's "City Hall This Week" will debut a new show tonight at 8 p.m.
Hosted by Senior Public Affairs Specialist Amy Blalock, this show will

Final Angier-Driver Streetscape Design Now Completed
The final design for the Angier-Driver streetscape project is now
completed. The City unveiled the design to the public during a
neighborhood meeting on September 10. The project addresses streetscape
designs at the intersection of Angier Avenue and Driver Street. The goal
is to create an aesthetically pleasing, safe and functional backdrop for
this important commercial area. Construction on the streetscape project
is expected to be complete by October 2014.
Durham Police Department Unveils New Tool for Patrolling Hard-to-Reach
Areas
The Durham Police Department has a new tool for patrolling at large
events and for use in hard-to-reach areas. Three new police-outfitted
utility terrain vehicles will allow officers to have better access to
the American Tobacco Trail, other greenways and parks, and at large
events and festivals. Captain D.C. Allen explains why the vehicles are
needed.
Durham Parks and Recreation Announces New Programs for Preschoolers
The I.R. Holmes Sr. Recreation Center at Campus Hills is expanding its
programs for preschoolers. New special events will be held every month
for children ages 2-6. Pre-registration and a small fee are required. In
addition, a "Total Tot Time" will be offered in the gym from 8:30 a.m.
to 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. For more information, visit

"What Durham Is Saying" Focuses on Customer Service
What is the City doing to make sure it's providing the highest levels of
