City of Durham to Collect Solid Waste Saturday

DURHAM, N.C. - The City of Durham Solid Waste Management Department plans to make up collections for Wednesday and Thursday customers on Saturday, February 15, road conditions permitting.

Only trash and recycling will be collected on Saturday. Bulky items and yard waste collections normally scheduled for Friday will be picked up on the next regularly scheduled collection day. The City's Waste Disposal and Recycling Center will also be open during its regular business hours on Saturday, February 15.

Trash and recycling collection on Saturday will only occur if the Sampson County landfill, which accepts the City's daily collections of trash, is open tomorrow.

It's also important for residents to remove their abandoned vehicles today so the City's plows can access the neighborhood streets, making them passable for both residents and solid waste collection trucks.

Customers who are waiting for collection should continue to leave their carts on the curb. Any questions or concerns regarding solid waste collection schedule changes should be directed to Durham One Call at (919) 560-1200.
