New City Hall This Week Begins February 21

City Hall This Week will debut a new show tonight at 8 p.m. on DTV8 (Time Warner Cable channel 8 with a cable box, digital converter or channel 97-5 with a QAM tuner) as well as on demand at http://youtu.be/QiEPbBpw9GI.

City Employees Respond to Last Week's Winter Storm
No one could stop last week's winter weather from happening, but City employees were at the ready to keep residents safe and to minimize the effects of the storm as much as possible. Find out how the quick actions of Durham's public works employees, 911 call-takers, police officers, and first responders helped get life back to normal.

Volunteers Needed for Driver Street Tree Planting Project
The City is asking for volunteers to help with a Driver Street tree planting project. Volunteers are need to plant 140 trees and more than 1,000 daffodil bulbs over the next couple of weeks. The first planting is set for Saturday, February 22 and the second planting is scheduled for Saturday, March 1. The trees were specifically selected to be compatible with the City's new infrastructure in the area and will be suitable for a street-side environment.

Urgent Home Repair Program Offers to Help to Elderly and Disabled Low-Income Residents
The City's Community Development Department wants to make sure that all residents know of an Urgent Home Repair Program available to elderly and disabled low-income residents. The program can be used for projects costing no more than $7,500. Find out more about how residents can qualify and hear from a 101-year-old woman who recently benefitted from the program.
