City of Durham Cancels City Council Meeting Tonight

DURHAM, N.C. - The City of Durham is canceling the March 3 City Council meeting due to inclement weather and concerns regarding road conditions later this evening. The City Council will hold a special meeting on Thursday, March 6 following the Work Session to handle the March 3 agenda items that will not require public hearings or re-advertisement.

The City's Solid Waste Management Department has suspended solid waste, recycling, yard waste, and bulky items collections today. The department will make up Monday's collection on Tuesday, road conditions permitting. Monday customers who did not receive collection today should leave their carts on the curb for collection tomorrow. Tuesday customers should still place their carts at the curb by 7 a.m. Any questions or concerns regarding solid waste collection schedule changes should be directed to Durham One Call at (919) 560-1200.

Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) closed at noon today all facilities, offices, and pools to the public and all after-school programs are canceled in addition to all programs and rentals at all recreation facilities. All DPR facilities, office and pools will be delayed opening until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4.
