Durham Named to 2014 Top 50 Leading Fleets

City of Durham Only North Carolina Municipality to Achieve Honor

DURHAM, N.C. - The City of Durham is the only municipality in North Carolina to be named as one of the Top 50 Leading Fleets for 2014 by Government Fleet magazine.

The awards program, sponsored by Ford Motor Company and Property Room, recognizes operations that are performing at a high level, particularly in fleet leadership, competitiveness and efficiency, planning for the future, and overcoming challenges.

The 50 Leading Fleets represent the best in the industry, and among these, the Top 20 will be ranked and recognized at the Honors Celebration which will take place at the June 2014 Government Fleet Expo & Conference. The Honors Celebration will recognize these 50 fleets and announce the Top 20 rankings and size category winners. Size categories will include the No. 1 small fleet (499 or fewer assets), No. 1 mid-size fleet (500-999 assets), and No. 1 large fleet (1,000 or more assets). The City's Fleet Management Department will compete in the large fleet category.
