WNCU Radio 90.7 FM and City of Durham Host Southside Forum
New Residents, City Staff and Builders to Answer Questions about Rental and Ownership

DURHAM, N.C. - The City of Durham and WNCU 90.7 FM at North Carolina Central University are teaming up to help residents discover all the new Southside community has to offer.

WNCU 90.7 FM will air a forum on Tuesday, May 6 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. to answer any questions potential renters and homeowners might have about this community. Guests include Southside residents, City staff, the rental leasing agent, and the homebuilders.

Southside, with a major investment by the City of Durham, has been transformed with more than 130 new rental units and 48 single-family homes that are affordable for many income levels. "There's a lot of financial assistance available to help interested renters and buyers at all income levels to afford the home of their dreams," said Director Reginald J. Johnson with the City's Community Development Department. "This forum will help provide the answers they need, as well as general information about the new and improved Southside neighborhood."

Questions for the forum panel may be submitted by email to kpierce at nccu.edu<mailto:kpierce at nccu.edu> or by phone to (919) 530-7833. The cut-off date for questions to be submitted is May 2. For more information, contact the City's Community Development Department at (919) 560-4570 or visit http://durhamnc.gov/ich/cb/cdd/Pages/ssd_revit.aspx.
