[Durham INC] Turn by turn Luminaries Drive/Cycle/Walking guide, TONIGHT @ N Durham n'hoods

Dear neighbors,

 

For those that would like to enjoy the night of lights luminarias and house displays that are part of tonight's city of Durham celebration, here is a quick-sketch navigation guide to the ones viewable in the North of Downtown neighborhoods and parks of Duke Pk, Northgate, Trinity and Watts-Hospital Hillandale neighborhoods. 

 

Feel free to post back any other great routes or places to see neat lights tonight, and through the holidays.

Begin heading North or South on North Roxboro St. near the intersection of I-85. Turn in (L or R) onto Knox Street and follow the edge of Duke Park along E. Knox and Acadia. Feel free to park your conveyance to get out and walk to enjoy the park interior luminaires. 

 

Next, continue down E. Knox and turn left on Englewood, then left again on Edgevale, noting the unique and beautiful globe lights high in the trees throughout this neighborhood. zig zag a bit on local streets here to see them all. 

 

Next make your way (turning left) onto Washington street and head to the intersetion with West Club Boulevard. Turn right onto West Club and then left onto Acadia street, and complete a loop around Northgate Park, turning left onto Lavender St., and left again onto lower Glendale. Feel free to park again and enjoy a stroll down the lit interior path lined with luminaries or admire the park shelter adorned with flashing lights. 

 

Come to the end of Glendale and turn right at the corner (next to the magnet school) back onto W. Club, then left at the lights back onto Washington. Turn right onto Knox street heading west, until you reach the Trinity Park neighborhood and Trinity Park itself - admire all the homes that ring the streets/yards with luminaries in this dedicated neighborhood. Explore side streets here by vehicle or foot to see them all!

 

Finally, turn right onto Broad Street at the end of Knox as you leave Trinity neighborhood and turn left again onto Club Boulevard at the lighted intersection. Drive up the rest of Club admiring the house, globe, and luminaries displays of the lovely homes in Watts-Hospital Hillandale and Oval Park.
