City Hires Firm to Oversee Fiber-Optic Cable Installation
Kimley-Horn and Associates will review and approve plans and permits as well as perform construction inspections for fiber-optic cable installations. The extra help is needed because more than 20 installation crews are expected to be working throughout Durham by December.

Updated Strategic Plan Now Serving as Roadmap for Durham
An updated strategic plan is now serving as a roadmap for Durham's planning and how its financial resources are spent. The plan includes new initiatives and objectives to allow Durham's five strategic plan goals to be implemented.

Durham NCWorks Provides Training for In-Demand Jobs
The NCWorks Training for Careers program is providing short-term training for industry-recognized or state-level credentials for certain jobs. A grant will pay for registration fees, exam and certification test fees, books, and supplies. A July 20th information session is at Durham Technical Community College.
