[Durham INC] FW: List of Potential Planning Projects

As discussed at this week's delegate meeting, Durham City/County Planning is deciding what projects to take on next year.  Mr. Cain needs feedback before our next delegate meeting (by mid-January).  The attached is one list of things they might do (the great wish list from the Comprehensive Plan).  I think that if individual neighborhoods discuss and decide on some work items that are important to them (on this list or otherwise), that will carry quite a bit of weight.

Thank you very much for hosting me this past Tuesday night to speak with the INC about potential strategic planning projects for the Planning Department in the upcoming fiscal year.  I’ve attached a list of strategic planning projects that
 are listed in the Durham Comprehensive Plan and are directed to the Planning Department.  Those projects that are highlighted are ones that are already underway (some, such as Affordable Housing, are not under the direction of the Planning Department so you
 would not see them on the list of current projects that I gave out Tuesday night, but I happen to know that they are currently being worked on). 

 
Please feel free to distribute this list to your membership so that they can use it to provide feedback to me on potential projects of interest.  Due to staffing constraints, we are only able to take on a limited number of new projects
 next fiscal year, but do welcome input from the community on what those projects might be.  I have the list of projects that were generated Tuesday night.
