Subject: Notice of Initial Public Review and Meetings- Updates to Design District Zoning Regulations


The Planning Department is developing updates to the Design District zoning regulations currently established for Downtown (Downtown Design District (DD)) and the Ninth Street Compact Neighborhood (Compact Design District(CD)). These revisions encompass changes beyond technical corrections or clarifications.



The Planning Department has established a "Durham Design District Zoning Regulations-Updates" webpage at http://durhamnc.gov/2946/Durham-Design-District-Zoning-Regulation.  Here you can find information about the project and Design District zoning in general, links to the proposed revisions, and how to provide comments. No public hearings are scheduled at this time as staff will review comments received and make any necessary revisions to the draft updates.



Staff will be also be hosting two public meetings to discuss this project and receive additional public input. These meetings will be held as follows:
