Durham Delays Opening City Government Offices Tuesday
Solid Waste Curbside Collections Remain Suspended Due to Icy Road Conditions

DURHAM, N.C. - On Tuesday, January 10, the opening of Durham City Hall and other non-emergency City operations will be delayed until noon due to continued icy conditions on many secondary and neighborhood streets.

The Solid Waste Management Department<http://durhamnc.gov/832/Solid-Waste-Management> has also suspended curbside trash, recycling, yard waste and bulky item collections on Tuesday, January 10. Monday and Tuesday customers are asked to leave their carts on their curb for collection beginning on Wednesday, January 10, road conditions permitting. A decision on curbside collections for Wednesday and the remainder of this week will be made on Tuesday afternoon. The Waste Disposal and Recycling Center<http://durhamnc.gov/878/Waste-Disposal-Recycling-Center> will remain closed on Tuesday, January 10 as well. Any questions or concerns regarding solid waste collection schedule changes should be directed to Durham One Call<http://durhamnc.gov/1439/Durham-One-Call> at (919) 560-1200.

All Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR)<http://durhamnc.gov/753/Parks-Recreation> facilities and recreation centers will also remain closed on Tuesday, January 10. Call the DPR weather line at (919) 560-4636 and select option #9, or visit DPR's website<http://www.dprplaymore.org/> as well as their Facebook<http://facebook.com/DurhamParksandRecreation> and Twitter<http://twitter.com/dprplaymore> pages for future updates.
