[Durham INC] Update: 1228 Carroll St. (Federal Surplus Property)

See below for an updated regarding 1228 Carroll St. from Keith Chadwell, City of Durham Deputy City Manager:

We are aware that five non-profit agencies located in the Raleigh/Durham area submitted letters of interest to redevelop the sited for purposes in the realm of homeless services.  No submission is for a "homeless shelter."   We are only able to confirm that two of these agencies are working on applications:  CASA and the Durham Crisis Resource Center.

A letter of interest for a homeless services use was submitted by an organization from another state.  We do not know at this point precisely know what the proposed use is.   Once letters of Interest are submitted to the GSA, the federal staff are not allowed to reveal the identities.  Entities that submitted letters of interest are sent application kits that guide the preparation and submission of the formal proposals.  Proposals are due 90 days from the day the kits are shipped.  At this point, the process is in the application preparatory phase.
