Hello INC delegates and list members,

In clearing up documents and files it appears that when the PPSE
subcommittee wrapped up & disbanded after its final presentation, that
material was not posted to the list serv afterwards as originally intended,
in order for the info to be archived somewhere on the web page for review.

Here's an attachment to that information, which has also been posted to the
notes section of the INC Facebook page at this link:

lic-spaces-environment-subcommitte-of-the-inc-final-report/730352150506375/

Along with this info, here is one brief and uplifting bit of additional
data:

-------------------------------------------------

The city initiative that was getting underway at the time the PPSE committee
was active (which we opted to defer to rather than organize what would have
been a similar but probably less extensive program), known as Bull City
Challenge, was an *enormous* success - once again many congrats are due to
the city staff and many agency and community stakeholders who contributed to
its design and operation. Congrats as well to the extensive number of
residents who participated, and did so deeply in many facets of the
challenge. The finale celebration event was terrific, and here are a few
less-known FINAL STATISTICS of how much beneficial impact the challenge had
on our community:

Energy - 522,838 kilowatt hours saved (less kWh generated from fossil fuel)

CO2 - 942, 670 Lbs of carbon emissions prevented (reduction in greenhouse
gases and their impacts)

Water - 231,844 less gallons consumed/conserved

Nature - 674 resident hours spend in, or helping, our local environment

Community - 326 hours donated in assisting local community groups/nonprofits

Awesome results and impacts for a well-designed and engaging citizen
program!

-------------------------------------------------

Thanks again to all who had a part in making the PPSE committee an enjoyable
and rewarding experience, and for your efforts in addressing key issues of
concern to the residents who send their delegations to the InterNeighborhood
Council to examine, assess, and advocate for them.

Best,

Debra Hawkins, Co-Chair

Parks, Public Spaces & Environmental Subcommittee
