DCHC MPO Seeks Comment on Transportation Priorities
Feedback Requested by September 20; Workshop & Public Hearing Set for August and September

DURHAM, N.C. - The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO)<http://www.dchcmpo.org> is seeking public feedback on the 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), which will drive future policies and decision-making processes for highway, bicycle, pedestrian, and transit projects.

Residents and stakeholders can now review and provide input on the 2045 MTP Alternatives Analysis, which shows the transportation impacts of four different growth and transportation scenarios in the future, by using a variety of methods listed below:

* Visit the DCHC MPO Website<http://www.dchcmpo.org/programs/transport/2045mtp.asp#tabs4> and provide comments directly by email to Andrew.Henry at DurhamNC.gov<mailto:Andrew.Henry at DurhamNC.gov> by September 20.

* Attend a drop-in public workshop on Tuesday, August 29 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Durham Station Transportation Center, 515 W. Pettigrew Street.

* Attend a public hearing with local elected officials on Wednesday, September 13 at 9 a.m. in the Durham City Hall Committee Room, 101 City Hall Plaza.

The MPO will release a draft of the proposed 2045 MTP in October 2017, and again request input from the public. The final plan is scheduled to be adopted in December 2017, which will include projects for consideration to receive state and federal funding through the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

Any person with a disability may receive an auxiliary aid or service to effectively participate in the public workshop next week and the public hearing next month by contacting the City's ADA Coordinator at (919) 560-4197 or ADA at DurhamNC.gov<mailto:ADA at DurhamNC.gov> as soon as possible, but no later than 48 hours before the meeting.

For more information about the 2045 MTP, contact Andy Henry with the City of Durham Transportation Department at (919) 560-4366, ext. 36419 or Andrew.Henry at DurhamNC.gov<mailto:Andrew.Henry at DurhamNC.gov>.
