Most City of Durham Offices Closed for Thanksgiving
Residents Asked to Note Changes in City-Provided Services

DURHAM, N.C. - Most City of Durham offices, including City Hall and other non-emergency City operations, will be closed on Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24, 2017, in observance of Thanksgiving. Police, fire and rescue services for life-threatening or in-progress emergencies may be reached by calling 911. Non-emergency problems or concerns may be directed to (919) 560-4600. Residents are asked to make note of the following changes in other City-provided services and programs.

Solid Waste, Recycling, Yard Waste and Bulky Item Curbside Collections
The Solid Waste Management Department<http://durhamnc.gov/832/Solid-Waste-Management> will be closed on Thursday, November 23. Regular Thursday collection for all curbside services, including solid waste, recycling, yard waste and bulky items, will take place on Friday, November 24. Regular Friday collections for yard waste and bulky items will take place on Monday, November 27. Residents may also now access their collection schedule by visiting the department's new webpage<http://durhamnc.gov/3025/Find-Collection-Day-Holiday-Schedule-Cal> to search for their collection day, holiday schedule changes, and what items are accepted in their curbside collections. The Waste Disposal & Recycling Center, Yard Waste Facility, and the Household Hazardous Waste Center<http://nc-durham.civicplus.com/898/Disposal-Facilities> will also be closed on Thursday, November 23 and Saturday, November 25, but will operate under normal schedules on Friday, November 24.

Durham Parks and Recreation
Durham Parks and Recreation<http://durhamnc.gov/753/Parks-Recreation> will close all recreation centers at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22. DPR will close its administrative office and all recreation centers on Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24. DPR's recreation centers will operate under their regular weekend schedules on Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26. The administrative office will reopen under its normal schedule on Monday, November 27. GoDurham, GoDurham ACCESS and Bull City Connector
GoDurham<http://godurhamtransit.org/> and GoDurham ACCESS<http://godurhamtransit.org/access> will provide Sunday-level service on Thursday, November 23 in which hourly service is provided from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. GoDurham's administrative office will be closed on Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24, and will reopen under its normal schedule on Monday, November 27. The Bull City Connector<http://www.bullcityconnector.org/> will not operate on Thursday, November 23. Durham One Call
Durham One Call<http://durhamnc.gov/1439/Durham-One-Call> will be closed on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25. Residents may submit a service request using the smartphone app<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/15550> available in the Apple and Google Play stores, complete and submit an online service request<http://durhamnc.gov/1439/Durham-One-Call> on the City's website, or leave a message at (919) 560-1200. Durham One Call will forward all requests for City services to the appropriate department on the next business day. For information about the City's holiday schedule and any other services that may be affected, contact Durham One Call at (919) 560-1200 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
