Photo and art exhibits (Third Friday receptions - December 15 in downtown Durham from
6 - 9 pm)

Karen Klinedinst's current exhibition, Landscapes, will be on display through December 24, 2017. A Baltimore-based photographer, Klinedinst's landscape photographs test the boundary between photography and painting through the use of 'painterly' methods of layered photo manipulation. Klinedinst cites 19th century painters as a source of inspiration for this series of work. The Landscapesphotographs meditate on the human relationship to land, and the connection between the natural world and memory.

Lucia Marcus is a local Durham painter and photographer. Her current exhibit, Camera Lens, Brush Mind, features reverse glass paintings, mixed-media pieces, and photographs--all original pieces of art. In the artist's words, "[t]he exhibit showcases my ability to use photographic imagery in a variety of ways with various materials, while maintaining the liveliness of life drawing." Marcus' original prints and drawings start at $50. Her show will be on display through December 24, 2017.
