Durham Announces Solid Waste Collection Changes Due to Hurricane Florence

DURHAM, N.C. - The City of Durham Solid Waste Management Department is suspending all curbside collection services for Thursday, Sept. 13 and Friday, Sept. 14 due to Hurricane Florence.

Additionally, the City's Waste Disposal and Recycling Center (Transfer Station), located 2115 E. Club Blvd., will close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Weather and road conditions permitting, curbside collections will resume on Monday, Sept. 17, at which time garbage and recycling customers not collected on Thursday, Sept. 13 as well as yard waste and bulky item customers not collected on Friday, Sept. 14, will be serviced.

The City's Waste Disposal and Recycling Center will also re-open as soon as weather and road conditions allow.
