Central Park Waterline Replacement Project Update and Two-Week Look Ahead

November 2, 2018

The City appreciates your ongoing patience with the work along the busy corridors associated with the Central Park Waterline Replacement Project.  Additional information regarding this project can be found at: http://durhamnc.gov/1251/Durham-Central-Park-Waterline-Replacement.

Planned Road / Lane Closures will occur as follows:


  *   Week of 11/5:
     *   Corporation Street between Foster Street and Mangum Street, Hunt Street between Mangum Street and Rigsbee Avenue, and Fernway Avenue between Morris Street and Fuller Street may be closed temporarily for repaving as equipment becomes available.
     *   Intersection of Seminary Avenue and Rigsbee Avenue will be closed.
     *   Rigsbee Avenue will be closed between Hunt Street and West Morgan Street.
     *   Geer Street will be reduced to one westbound lane between Foster Street and Washington Street. Eastbound lane will be closed to thru traffic.


  *   Week of 11/12:
     *   Corporation Street between Foster Street and Mangum Street, Hunt Street between Mangum Street and Rigsbee Avenue, and Fernway Avenue between Morris Street and Fuller Street may be closed temporarily for repaving as equipment becomes available.
     *   Geer Street will be reduced to one westbound lane between Foster Street and Washington Street. Eastbound lane will be closed to thru traffic.

Week of November 5, 2018:


  *   Periodic one-lane interruptions will occur on Corporation Street between Foster Street and Mangum Street as pavement repairs are made.

     *   Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   Residents and business owners will be contacted in advance of any service disruptions.

  *   Rigsbee Avenue will be closed as water line installation continues.

     *   Traffic control signs and markings will be used for all traffic detours.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   Residents and business owners will be contacted in advance of any service disruptions.

  *   Geer Street will be reduced to one lane as sanitary sewer installation begins.

     *   Traffic control signs and markings will be used for all traffic detours.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.

Saturday - Sunday November 10-11, 2018:

     *   No work planned.

Week of November 12, 2018:
