This is just one step. They assume about a 50% growth in population by 2050 and show how bad transportation will get if we make no changes in the infrastructure. The next step will be to develop and evaluate some alternatives (more buses).</div>

<li>Don't fuss at them about the growth forecast. It's what they have to use.</li><li>They just evaluate in detail where the roads fail. I think we need to ask for real measures of equity and non-road gaps and deeper analysis of some of the areas with big growth.</li><li>The most useful parts to look at are the deficiency maps and the tables of measures. </li></ul>

The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO) is now seeking public feedback on their proposed study for the corridor. The
<a href="http://www.dchcmpo.org/programs/local/us_15_501_corridor_study_(durham___chapel_hill).asp">
U.S. 15-501 Corridor Study</a> identifies future highway, transit, bicycle, pedestrian, and other transportation improvements along U.S. 15-501 between University Drive in Durham and Ephesus Church Road in Chapel Hill. The study integrates land use, relevant
local and statewide plans, and a transportation vision for distinct segments of the area.
