<div>There have been 204 million confirmed COVID-19 cases and 4.13 confirmed COVID-19 deaths around the world. The actual COVID-19 infections and deaths are most likely many times these confirmed numbers. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the human
population worldwide do not have acquired immunity to protect them against the rapidly mutating SARS-CoV2 virus. Additionally, with breakthrough SARS CoV-2 variants, we do not know how long our current vaccines will keep us safe from severe COVID-19.</div>

</div>
<div>The U.S., which has prided itself on having some of the most advanced health systems and biosecurity capacities, is still the most COVID-19 impacted society in the world in terms of confirmed cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. What is this
saying about American society at this time? Even as one of the societies with the most vaccinated populations, the U.S. is also one of the societies most impacted since July 4 in terms of a sweeping upsurge of Delta variant COVID-19 cases. </div>

<div>A dispassionate, politically-independent view of the spread of the Delta variant leads one to think that some states with high vaccination rates, use of masks, good social distancing, and low confirmed cases with few COVID hospitalizations and
deaths must be doing something right. Those states and communities with low vaccine-acquired immunity, as well as cultures and leaders standing against masks, poor social distancing, and exponentially increasing COVID hospitalizations and deaths must be doing
something seriously wrong. Given that the American public has been provided free vaccines, effective masks, and the information that enables them to understand the safety and efficacy of the vaccines, mask use, and social distancing, where are the key solutions
that can overcome this key conundrum for those individuals and communities at risk?</div>

<div>Please join us to talk about the need for an essential change in pandemic strategy for the remainder of 2021 and into 2022, reflecting on what has happened in the past year with high COVID cases and deaths in late 2020 and early 2021. Our hypothesis
is that a new bottom-up, community-centric strategy is now essential to improve pandemic and syndemic resilience across the United States during Quarter 3 and 4 of 2021 and beyond. The Resilient American Communities (RAC) unity of effort is working with the
Alliance for Prevention and Response and Geiger-Gibson 2.0 to integrate this insight and our collective civil society-driven efforts with the efforts of HHS, the White House, Congress, the National Governors Association, and the National League of Cities to
reduce the impact of the Delta variant and other emerging variants through hyper-local approaches to vaccination equity and behavioral and social resistance to COVID even in the hardest to reach American communities striving to achieve better health, resilience,
and regeneration.
