OSHA is to begin work soon with an advisory committee to introduce
chemical PEL rule making and have requested industry representation on
that committee. Would you or anyone you know like to be involved in this
work? If so, please call me to discuss.
The first try at getting this out to the safety committee over the list
serve failed to go out so we are a little belated. However, I spoke with
Mr Obarr today and although he is ready to get going he is not pushed
for time. He would like to have our recommendation in 2-4 weeks.

Dick,
Please see the note below from Kevin Obarr at the Dept of Labor. I
thought you might have best grip on who might be the best contact for
Kevin to seekout.
Preston
Mr. Howard,
Thanks for your time on the phone today. I am writing to ask for a
chemical industry contact who would be willing to share some time and
expertise with our department as we discuss possible changes for
permissible exposure limits. My goal is to set up an advisory committee
of academia and industry experts to aid us in prioritizing the chemicals
to which we give our attention and resources. Your safety committee
contact can call me at his convenience. I look forward to speaking with
him about the project.
