Hi Kerstin,

That's great!  I'll let you know if the workshop is approved.  It wasn't entirely clear whether the audience would have enough scientists interested in learning how to cite data, so I don't know that it will be scheduled.

I actually note that I am a member of the working group that you mentioned.  

I do wonder if you've compared IEDA's guidelines to the ESIP guidelines?  I haven't done that yet.  I note that the ESIP guidelines were vetted through an extensive process involving many repositories and many users bringing datasets to workshops to work out what the citation should be, before the set of guidelines as a whole were approved by the ESIP general assembly. As a result, they already represent the consensus of a large number of data providers; but that doesn't mean that the suite of guidelines cover all possible use cases.  I'd be interested to know whether IEDA's guidelines are consistent already or whether the ESIP guidelines will need to be updated to handle another use case.  There is a well defined process for that and it would be good to make the ESIP guidelines as comprehensive as possible.
