You are receiving this email because some time ago you indicated interest in attending the 1st U.S. Semantic Technologies Symposium (US2TS). Our planning for the event got delayed. However:

It is going to happen now.

March 1+2, at Wright State University, in Dayton, OH (two full days)

The goal of the event is to start consolidating the large but very fragmented community of people who are developing or applying Semantic Web Technologies (including ontologies, linked data, knowledge graphs, etc) in the U.S. and Canada.

The program will focus on facilitating information flow between the subcommunities, and to work towards joint efforts for creating more visibility for our methods and applications in the U.S.

The following people have already committed to help coordinate the program, to attend the event, and to be on the advisory committee for the event:

Achille Fukoue, IBM TJ Watson Research Center
Karl Grossner, World History Center, University of Pittsburgh
    Jim Hendler, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Chris Mungall, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

For those who desire so, there will also be an opportunity to present posters at the event and to submit technical or position papers for publication in informal proceedings.

We plan this to be a low-cost event, with no (or at most a very small) participation fee. We have an informal promise of substantial support by at least one sponsor.

Further details will be forthcoming shortly.

As we are still in the planning phase for the program, we would be happy about any feedback and suggestions for the program.

    Stay tuned!

Pascal Hitzler, Wright State University (general/local chair)
Krzysztof Janowicz, University of California, Santa Barbara (program chair)
Xiaogang Ma, University of Idaho (sponsorships chair)
