[esip-semantictech] SWEET Paper Draft on Overleaf

Hi Folks,

I heard word back from the Editor-in-Chief of the Elsevier Computers & Geosciences journal regarding what ‘type’ of paper structure we should use for the SWEET paper.
He has recommended a Scientific Review Article which is defined as

> Critically describing the state-of-the art of applications of computer science in the geosciences,
> as a stand-alone contribution or to frame a special issue. Criteria for assessment shall be:
> completeness, depth, novelty, timeliness, quality, and interest to the Journal's readership.
> Review outlines should be pre-approved by an Associate Editor, or Editorial Board Member
> of the Journal.

I therefore pulled the Elsevier LaTeX template and started a new project on Overleaf. So far, I’ve made minimal edits just to get the ball rolling.

REQUEST: My preference and hopes are that many of us will consider contributing to the paper. If you are serious about contributing e.g. if you have the time, then please send me an email directly. I’ll then add you to the Overleaf project and we can get cracking.

EXISTING CONCERNS: Ruth quite rightly brought up her concern that the SWEET paper should be submitted as open access. Specific information on that issue can be found at https://www.elsevier.com/journals/computers-and-geosciences/0098-3004/guide-for-authors#13300

I am really looking forward to working with many of you on this. It will be a very real, timely, tangible output from our committee.
