Hey folks,
I think CF does have valid URIs hosted at the NERC Vocabulary Server:
http://vocab.nerc.ac.uk/collection/P07/current/
It's mentioned here:
http://cfconventions.org/faq.html#what-tools-exist-to-work-with-standard-names
