[INC-list] EANG meeting to protect (save) Duke owned New Hope Creek area land (pdf)

Dear INC list,

Information from the Erwin Area Neighborhood Group.

The following new website contains an announcement of a meeting on 
Tuesday 25 Jan 2005 at Forestview School to start a grass-roots effort 
to protect a tract of  Duke land adjacent to the New Hope Creek Corridor 
near Pickett and Erwin Roads.  The property straddles the Durham-Orange 
County line.  This is the tract of land the County Commissioners put a 
120 day moratorium on its sale back in December.

 Unfortunately this meeting is at the same time as the INC meeting. 

Tentatively, representatives from the County Commissioners (Ellen 
Reckhow),  City Council (Diane Catotti), Durham Parks & Rec (Jane 
Korest),  Triangle  Land Conservancy,  New Hope Creek Corridor 
Commission, the Trading Path Association, Orange County, and Duke 
University will attend.

A large turnout for this meeting would show strong community support for 
this project to both our elected officials and Duke U.
