INC NEWS - Indoor pools to be closed for new lockers

Lockers contents at Edison Johnson need to be cleaned out today at 7:30 p.m.
If the items inside are not removed the locks will be cut off.  The Edison
Hill pool will be closed December 3 & 4 so that new lockers can be
installed.  

I.R. Holmes, Sr. Recreation Center at Campus Hills will be closed December
10th and 11th so that new lockers can be installed.
If the items inside are not removed the locks will be cut off.  (Staff will
assist people when they cannot remember their combinations.)
 
I believe that Durham¹s indoor public swimming pools and exercise facilities
are some of Durham's best kept secrets.  Consider treating yourself to some
exercise at one of these facilities and/or giving friends, family members
and co-workers exercise certificates as a gift for the holidays.  The pools
offer lap swimming, aerobics classes and classes for children.
 
Durham Parks & Recreation sells 20 hole, 3 month, 6 month and yearly passes
for use in the department's indoor pools.  (You can also pay for single use
tickets. (People living outside the city of Durham pay an additional
amount.)

The cost for lap swimming for Durham city residents is:
$2.00 for a single time for lap and recreational swim
20 hole punch pass for lap and recreational swim $25
3 month pass for lap and recreational swim$40
6 month pass for lap and recreational swim$60
One year pass for lap and recreational swim $105

16 hole pass for water aerobics $42

Edison Johnson  560-4265
600 W. Murray (next door to the Museum of Life and Science between Duke St.
and Roxboro Rd) has an indoor swimming pool.

I.R. Holms Recreation Center at Campus Hills  560-4444
2000 S. Alston Ave (close to North Carolina Central¹s Law School) has an
indoor swimming pool as well as racket and basketball courts and a weight
room.  Has a masters swim program.
