Applicants Sought for Durham City-County Neighborhood
College

The Durham City-County Neighborhood College is seeking
applicants for the 2006 Spring Term. This series of
classes provides participants with general information
about key City and County services. The final day to
apply for the session is Friday, January 27, 2006.
All applicants must be current in their vehicle and
property taxes at the time of application.

The classes will be held on nine Thursday nights
beginning February 23, 2006, from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
and on one Saturday morning. Space in the
Neighborhood College is limited to 25 people, and
applications will be accepted to create a diverse
participant population from as many Durham
neighborhoods as possible. Students must attend eight
of the 10 sessions to successfully complete the
program.

A light meal is served prior to the start of each
nightly class and sessions are held at City and County
facilities. There is a $25 fee for citizens who are
accepted to attend the program and five scholarships
are also available if needed. Area high school
students ages 15 and up as well as Hispanic residents
are particularly encouraged to apply.

Interested residents should fill out and submit an
application to the Durham County Clerk to the Board of
Commissioners, located at 200 East Main Street, Second
Floor, Durham, N.C. 27701.
