Sierra Club hike in West Durham
Saturday, March 18th at 9:00 AM

Urban hike starts outside EK Powe School, corner of
Ninth & Green (across from White Star Laundry, park on
nearby streets)

4-mile loop starting at EK Powe, through the South
Ellerbe Creek Nature Area, into an old mill village,
to Oval Park. From there, we'll walk along the West
Ellerbe Trail in 17-acre Urban Nature Reserve, to
Westover Park, past the NC School of Science & Math,
down a mysterious/hidden route, over to Walltown,
along Markham Ave, down Watts Street, swing past
Trinity Park, past the Bassett Affair house on
Buchanan, across East Campus, and back up Ninth Street
to EK Powe.

You'll see some nature and learn a little Durham
history along the way.

Local history buff will narrate along the tour. You
don't have to register. Ample parking is available
nearby. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome.
