Sierra Club hike: East Campus & beyond 
Saturday, March 18th at 9:00 AM 

Urban hike starts at corner of Ninth & Green, across
from White Star Laundry. Park on nearby streets.

4-mile loop starts next to EK Powe school. We'll walk
by the South Ellerbe Creek Nature Area, into an old
mill village, and up to Oval Park. From there, we'll
walk along the West Ellerbe Trail in 17-acre Urban
Nature Reserve, to Westover Park, past the NC School
of Science & Math, down a mysterious route, over to
Walltown, along Markham Ave, past some infamous Duke
party houses and the Bassett Affair house on Buchanan.
We'll then go down Watts Street, past Trinity Park,
cross East Campus and head up Ninth Street back to EK
Powe. 

You'll see some nature and learn some Durham history
along the way.

Local history buff will narrate along the tour. You
don't have to register. Ample parking is available
nearby. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome.
