INC NEWS - [pac2] Beware of Used Homes

New home ads.

I'm not too concerned about these ads- it's just effective marketing, that's all. New vs. old has been around since the cave man. New rock vs. used rock. New car vs. used (ugh, I mean pre-owned) car.

We compared new construction vs. old construction when we bought our house. We bought the house built in the late 60's. Better value for the money. Hardwoods vs. cheap carpet, crawl space vs. slab, SMALL yard vs. big yard...

It almost always comes down to the quality, features and benefits, and the costs/value of the features.

  Just my thoughts-

Ken: I hope you've written the radio station where you heard the ad to
complain. That's where you'll be effective--if you and area realtors and
contractors and folks who listen to the radio station call in to complain
about the ad--and threaten to take your ears elsewhere. As the christian
right learned a long time ago--it doesn't take too many consumer letters to
have an effect.
