What:                  Fourth Annual Bull City Chili and Salsa Challenge

Who:                    City of Durham’s Office of Economic and Employment
Development (OEED), Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the Chili
Appreciation Society International (CASI)

When:                 Saturday, June 10, 2006, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  (Chili/Salsa Turn-In at 12 p.m.)

Where:                Durham Central Park

                                502 Foster Street

                   Durham, N.C. 27701

Fast Facts

·         The Annual Bull City Chili Challenge is the only chili cook-off
in the Triangle sanctioned by the CASI.

·         Tasting kits cost only $3 and the funds raised will support the
Special Olympics of Durham County. 

·         Event attendees will be able to sample chili, salsa and beans
from multiple divisions:
*	Texas-Style Chili
*	Freestyle Chili
*	Vegetarian Chili
*	Restaurant Chili
*	Junior Chili (under 18 years of age)
*	Individual Salsa
*	Restaurant Salsa
*	Individual Beans
*	Restaurant Beans

·         Attendees will also enjoy performances by Tammy Griffith and the
TROSA Community Choir as well as games for children including a moon
bounce and the Scrap Exchange.

·         Entry forms to participate in the Bull City Chili and Salsa
Challenge are available by contacting Adrienne Grant with Piedmont Pepper
Pod at (919) 604-5262 or via e-mail at adrienneg at gmail.com.  The deadline
to submit entry forms is Saturday, June 3, 2006.
